RTAF – LOCKHEED T-33A & RT-33A

 

Below are details of the 46 T-33A and 8 RT-33A operated until 1996. 

 

6 T-33A & 3 RT-33A delivered Jul-55 to 10 Squadron, followed by 1 RT-33A in 1960, 7 T-33A in 1962, 2 T-33A & 3 RT-33A in 1967, 12 T-33A in 1969/70, 1 RT-33A in 1970, 12 ex French AF in 1982/83 and 7 T-33A in 1988.

 

Reports that 53-5147 [F-BJNO]; 53-5748 [F-BJXM]; 53-5794 [F-BJGY]; 51-17497 [F-BKXM] were delivered to the RTAF are incorrect; all four passed through Bahrain in March 1982 on delivery to the Singapore AF. Equally, the RTAF have not received any ex Singapore AF T-33A’s, contrary to other reports.

 

The following has been assembled from personal observations and research, together with reference to official Royal Thai Air Force service records, staff at RTAFB Hat Yai, Air Britain publications, etc, with additional data from Marco Dijkshoorn.
